Success and Passion

file0001410614839It is New Year’s Eve day and many folks are preparing for the evening festivities. There will be parties, dancing, drinking, eating, laughing and sharing. There will be those who are also thinking about the traditional New Year’s resolutions that are traditionally made at this time of the year. If you read the statistics…well, let’s just say it is not great. But you can up your chances of being successful with these steps. If you PREPARE for your resolution, making sure you have the proper ingredients, equipment, knowledge and resources…you raise your odds of being successful.

If you are REALISTIC with your expectations, making sure it is achievable, understanding you will falter, and are willing to start slowly…you raise your odds of hanging in there.

If you have COMMUNITY to support you, cheer you on, share with you the experience…you are more likely to meet obtainable goals.

If you TRY and TRY again, and you are willing to stick with it, understanding that you will lose some momentum, face challenges, cheat or fail BUT are willing to start fresh and keep on going…you will see results!

More often than not there are no quick fixes, no magic bullets, no fast and furious to the finish line (whatever that is) so if you can be fair to yourself and understand that most of the changes we are looking to make have been with us for a bit of time, it will take a bit of time to make the changes. BUT that is what it takes…to do things differently you have to change how you do them.

I am launching a new website tomorrow, veglogo-bylinewww.VegVitality.com. It is for those who are on or are interested in plant-based living. Dietary and lifestyle changes are big for the New Year. I have purposely created a website to offer people support, information, menus, recipes, and community…and I kept it as affordable as possible…

ONLY $8 A MONTH!

Why? Because it is a passion of mine. Making food a sacred act! Finding ways to help people honor their bodies like a temple. I care about our global food crisis, our environment, and all the living beings on the earth. To me, being a vegan is the only way I can be this effective in the areas that I care about so much! So if you are at all interested in this being a new way for you in the New Year, let me know! I have made sure to include all the necessary components mentioned above into the equation to create a successful opportunity!

Ask me what I am passionate about and I will give you a list of many things. They run the span of eating plant-based organic whole foods and living that lifestyle to hiking and camping. I love keeping healthy and living a healthy lifestyle. I exercise daily. I honor the mind/body/ spirit connection and try to keep sacred that balance. Recently I have had many people coming to me for support as they transition into a healthier lifestyle. It may be that many of my peers are now in their 40s and 50s and health is not taken for granted as much during this phase of life as in the past. It may be that all the discussion and happenings across the globe with our food supply have made people a bit more observant to their relationship with food and their bodies. Whatever the reason, it is wonderful to be in conversation with them about something I care so very much about.

I recently created an online Facebook group that celebrated the connection between our bodies and the messages it sends to us. What an amazing and inspiring group! We have learned so much about our bodies and how to attend to the messages being sent. I also have a group that is designed for support and discussion of a vegetarian and vegan lifestyle. Again, a wonderfully inspiring group of people who delight in meeting the needs of their bodies through a plant-based diet and healthy lifestyle.

Inspiration struck and I decided to take it further. I have created a website called VegVitality.com and I am offering its members weekly menus and recipes for vegan and vegetarian living. One of the beliefs of people who are unfamiliar with this lifestyle is that all a vegan eats is brown rice and steamed broccoli. Nothing could be further from the truth! I love to cook and over the years have created an abundance of delicious and creative recipes that are easy to make and welcoming to all palates.

Guest who have eaten at my home have said, “If this is what vegan food tastes like and I can make these dishes, then I can be a vegan!” So I took it on. VegVitality.com will also offer the latest news and information about organics, healthy lifestyles, celebrities who are vegan, media and book reviews and a weekly blog post as well. It will be a one-stop site for your vegan needs! Membership will also have the most fun and often necessary ingredient: support and friendly sharing through a private online group.

If you have considered trying a plant based diet, if you would like to see how easy and delicious it can be, if you want to improve your health in a honoring way, if you have someone in your life who would love this as a gift…a monthly membership is only $8. I purposefully kept it very affordable so that anyone can make the commitment. And remember you get 5 dinner recipes, 3 lunch recipes, 2 breakfast and 2 dessert/snack recipes EACH week plus everything mentioned above!

Stop by for a visit at www.VegVitality.com and take a look, maybe this will be a great fit for you as well and a new passion will be introduced into your life!

Imagine If....

Imagine if today, right in this very moment, you were granted everything you have ever hoped for! Imagine! No waiting for it, no having to see if everything aligns, no having to wait for others to come on board, to have enough money-time-skill-knowledge…Imagine you are ready, the Universe is waiting with arms wide open and you can have it, NOW! What runs through your mind? Do you begin to celebrate, to move forward, to embrace all the possibilities, to live large, to pay it forward, to ripple outward? Does your soul shine even brighter, your heart beat faster, your steps quicken? Or do you begin to fret, to worry about if this is really what you want? Do you start thinking about what ifs and cannots?

Our thoughts create energies around our realities. If we believe in what we want and prepare ourselves for the manifestation of that and learn to trust that as it unfolds it will be the right fit for us…we eliminate many of the worries that people tend to carry around with them in life. We let go of the concern over what we cannot control.

The Universe holds for us the possibilities of everything we can imagine and more. Spirit holds us in radiance and brilliance. Love creates abundance in our lives. Those who achieve their dreams learn early on not to think about what they cannot do. They don’t fret over why it could be impossible. They never pause to worry about what might not happen. That simply puts the brakes on our potential and opportunities. Perspective is everything and intention is the rest.

We often do not believe in our selves as much as others do. We often carry stories around of being less deserving, less talented, not as skilled, even not as lucky as others. Truth is we all have amazing gifts within that go untouched or underused. We get in our own way with our negative thinking and our fear based beliefs. What if that were all to stop and what if whatever may BE actually happens? Get ready, it could! Imagine the possibilities and then allow them!

Nature Guides

Out among the blue and silvery sky today I saw two hawks dancing in the air currents. They were in a sort of synchronization with one another, sometimes almost clipping wings and then swaying further apart. I heard their cries to each other as though calling out the next move. Later I watched a squirrel jump from limb to limb in my back yard trees. Perfect balance, no fear in sight, only obvious intention and unique perspective. Higher and higher further and further into the trees they went.

Nature shows us the perfect performance it keeps each day, only focusing on the one moment, the one flight, and the one branch at a time. How much I can learn from these lessons that are created outside my windows.

If I keep my perspective and vision focused on what I have to do in this moment, I keep my anxiety down, I keep my energies concentrated and I move further and deeper along my path. There is no need for the concern that is often brought along, there is no place for the worry of what if, and there is no room for the what is next at all. So I leave it behind.

With some aspects of my life it is easier said than done, but my intention is to get become stronger at this life trait. I continue to turn to nature for Her guidance and demonstration. I know it can be so, if I get out of my own way, if I open myself up to some trust, if I listen closely to my intuition and let Spirit be my guide.

What I have noticed is nature has a way of uncomplicating my life, making things look simple…I just need the patience and the practice to bring the ease and grace into alignment with it. That is what life is for.
