I Took The Time

We often forget that time is quickly passing. We fill our days with so many tasks and obligations. We meet deadlines, schedule appointments, work around meetings, calendars and more. The sun rises and sets around our scheduled time. And we forget to take time for us...time to be, to pause, to rest, to wonder. DSC_0026For most of the month of August I took the time; a three week camping trip with family and friends. Within this time there was rest as I lay on the sandy beaches listening to the waves rush up to greet me. I took the time to sit beneath the blanket of stars and call out to my guides and allies, sharing their essence and energies as they danced within my soul. I took the time to play with family and friends; laughter rolling from our bellies and stories building within the memories we were creating for our future delight. I took the time to hold my husband's hand as we walked on shaded paths with sunlight showering through the leaves above, listening to our footsteps climbing life's path together. I took the time to allow Nature to hold me; tenderly and gently She nurtured me back to strength, to fullness and to awareness. I took the time to be with my body as she relaxed and unfolded from the confines of schedule and demands; the most pressing appointment of the day being when and where to adventure today.

Oh the benefits of taking the time. It was handed to me not on a silver platter. It took organized intentional planning to create the space for it. It took compromise of my work, my commitments and my calendar. But within this negotiation I found the need and the waiting benefits and so I took the time.

Taking time for my body, mind and soul created more than one would imagine. It brought to my life abundance. It generated energies that were beginning to wane. It offered peace to replace the noise. It fed my soul with delectable nourishment that will sustain it in the weeks to come. It helped bridge relationships that had drifted. It connected spaces within that had been wedged apart.

We need to remember time is constantly moving forward. We need to be a part of that. We need to not let DSC_0063our obligations keep us from moving onward into the beauty and abundance that life holds for us. We need to make sure that with all of our time management we take time for our Self!

Imagine This Dream

"My dream is to be a part of a movement of being kind to ourselves and to others and witness a generation of young people that no longer waste years of precious life on self-loathing like I have because they think they are un-beautiful."~ Jade Beall Photography file0001139676137Picture the day when the negative self-talk ends for all. Imagine the possibilities, the power, the joy and the beauty. Imagine the different way the world would appreciate, honor and operate. It is possible, especially since I know ANYTHING is possible.

How do we begin this? How do we create this new and exciting trend? How do we make it the next best thing, the must have, and the topic of every conversation? How do we make self-loathing and negative self-talk a thing of the past; soooooo yesterday?

We have to start with ourselves. We have to not just talk about it, but BE it. We have to model it, support it, celebrate it, encourage it and honor it. We have to cherish and require it. It can be what saves us. It will be what empowers. It should bring peace. Imagine!

The precious energies will no longer be wasted and instead flow into the positive realms, the healing file000590857181realms, the growing and evolving realms. These barriers of good enough, pretty enough, thin enough, tall enough, small enough…these barriers would fall and instead we would see each others attributes that matter and have effective impact on our lives and on the lives of others. We would witness the compassion of others, the generosity, the grace, the authenticity … imagine! Imagine being so kind to ourselves and to others that negativity is hard to recall and instead we see the power in each soul, the beauty in each face and the joy in each body. Imagine!

The Essence Balance

Living a spiritual life is sometimes a matter of balance. It is often recognition of where we are White tulipsplacing our focus. It usually provides us with opportunities to check in with our intentions. For example, which force do we serve? Are we looking to give or to receive? Are we seeking approval and praise, or service and grace? One cannot serve both the ego and Spirit. When we are trying to maintain our spiritual life with grace and with service we find that a peace and a love surrounds us. This is not to say that we will not struggle or falter. It is not to say we won’t stumble or need to pause. But if we continue to keep our Self in balance and if we continue to look to our world for its beauty and love, the more and more we find alignment with Source and those around us begin to respond.

Our minds sometimes like to analyze things and if we are placing an unbalanced amount of energy and time pondering the places, situations, and people in our life that are not in alignment with our efforts, beliefs or practices we spend that energy. It no longer is available to us to use on what is in alignment. It becomes a choice. It becomes a distraction sometimes from the work we need to be doing or are being called to be in service to.

Water ripplesIf we focus our attention on maintaining our balance we find a positive energy begins to flow through and around us and we want to be a part of it, more and more frequently. People will begin to recognize the difference in our being, our attitude and our actions. We begin to BE beauty, to BE love, and to BE peace. It is our very essence.
