Dreaming the Earth

file000739935116(1)I awoke this morning from a beautiful dream. I was alone on this earth, walking across the globe in a very timeless way. Seeing it with shamanic eyes. Seeing it with eyes of the creatures that inhabit it. Seeing it with eyes of the original people who first walked the lands. And seeing it as it was and still is in some places, but not damaged as it is now in so many places. As I walked the earth, my breath brought consciousness to its inhabitants. The creatures began to speak to me and tell me of their offerings and gifts to the earth. The plants shared with me the story of their medicine. The mountains spoke of their majesty. The waters shared of their cleanse and power. All shared with me what, who and why they are.

What messages my soul received were many. But what I did awaken with is the insight to the powerful interconnectedness between all the beings, all the components of this earth and how we are only guests. What we do is take away from the cosmic energy that they share. It is intended that we are the takers, but it is our gluttony and our irresponsibility that weakens this relationship.

While I have paid close attention to my intention as I start each of my days, today I am filled with a file2051256162403difference. It feels weighted. Not burdened, but weighted with a call to service, a charge of sorts. I feel that we are all to carry this charge within us. We are given this lifetime for a reason or perhaps many reasons. It is for us to discover what they are. I feel one of mine is to be of service to the interconnectedness of this earth and to remind people that we are mere guests. We do not own any of it, contrary to what man would like to believe. And as guests we should leave this place we are visiting; this earth, this beautiful venue we get to celebrate on, grow and prosper on, grieve and learn upon and share on…we should as honoring and grateful guests leave it better than when we arrived.

The Balance of Give and Take

To support or come to the assistance of someone is a huge honor. It is an opportunity to gift and share ourIMG_0595 sacred purpose, our heart and our soul’s wisdom. We share this time, this realm with many and we cross in and out of each other’s lives for many different reasons. If one day I reach out to you for support, my heart is in a place of trust, my soul is seeking to have its needs met and my spirit welcomes the gift of you. When you reach out to me for support, I am given the opportunity to step up, to shine my inner light, to share my compassion and to possibly inspire, lend hope, or bring relief. I am honored in the gift you are affording me, to be of service to you, to be of service to spirit and to share this energy to the universe.

When we keep ourselves from receiving help, whom are we serving? What energies are we keeping from being shared? What gifts are we bogging down? What message are we sending to our soul? Why is it so hard for many to be recipients of others aid or care? For some we think it is a sign of weakness. I view this so differently.

file000417129376When someone is willing to be a receiver, they are being so strong. They are showing great wisdom. They are empowering others. Perhaps the opportunities that are being presented to us are doors to further possibilities. Being present and in the moment helps to keep a balance between our giving and our receiving.

Finding ways to be present, allow others to share their gifts with you and acknowledge that you are in a place of peace and grace as the receiver. Recognize the times that you can offer your help and are able to share the abilities you have honed over time, gained insight with and been blessed with. Imagine if we all became more and more comfortable with this dance of give and take, imagine if we were able to be so present with it that the balance was complete, imagine how different our needs and our offerings would become.

There Is A Time

I recently stumbled upon this quote from Robert Moss that I immediately copied into my shamanic journal to reflect upon. It so resonates with me. And so today I share it and my thoughts with you. file0001198459136“I am intrigued by the notion that there is a time for everything, including certain dreams. It may be like this in our larger life plans. We bring into the body, in this life experience, only as much as we can handle from the greater universe we belonged to, on the level of consciousness, before physical birth. To reclaim more of that soul knowledge, and bring through more of our dreams, we must grow our understanding and practice staying grounded in this world while carrying the secrets of the world-behind-the-world.” ~ Robert Moss

This inspires within me the possibilities that the manifestation of one’s dreams can become reality, that hopes may not be too large or thoughts too grand. Imagination can be actualized! Our soul knows the extent, if there even is any, of the range of these possibilities.

There is also a lovely sense of trust within these words. Trusting that we are not given more than we can handle to endure or to enjoy! To make the choice of more, we need to actively practice our grounding and growth principles. We need to be intentionally involved in the creation of the additional opportunities and possibilities.

Our soul is eager to grow, to expand, to reach higher and spread wider in our discoveries and our offerings.file000285709528 Our soul is ready, when its needs are well tended to, to become fuller, more vibrant and invested in our passions and our wonders. It shines brighter in our words, it reaches further in our actions and it blazes even more brilliantly within our hearts. And all that we need to do to make sure this is possible is to be diligent with our intention, to bring integrity to our efforts and to be open to all the secrets. It is a right bestowed upon our soulful being and us. It is with our greatness that we step into this greatness and that is inspiring beyond words!

Life Will Never Be The Same

file7871262953258I am an avid reader and often re-read books because I find that as I move through my path, my soul picks up nuances, messages and lessons that I missed in previous reads…perhaps they were not pertinent at the time or I was simply not ready for them yet. This happened quite recently while I re-read Robert Moss’s book Dreamways of the Iroquois. A particular quote jumped out at me. "To live strong, we need a vital and working connection with the animal guardians. This should be an energy connection, not simply a matter of personal symbolism. We need to be able to borrow the senses and skills of the animal powers in order to track, establish psychic boundaries, and heal. One of the fastest ways I know to restore vitality, to improve the immune system, and to move beyond lethargy or depression is to bring through the animal spirits." How true this has become for me. In my shamanic practice I have developed very strong relationships with my animal guides. They have taught me much. I regularly reflect on the lessons that they have brought into my life. I appreciate the ways in which they inspire, encourage and educate me as I travel through this lifetime. Messages come through the realms and feed my soul. Reminders are often made of how I could shift my perspective, embrace this reality and take a different course of action. Possibilities are explored in their company and revelations are many.

I feel their presence as I move throughout my day and sometimes get a glimpse of their essence as I weighfile000502030180 decisions and ponder moments that have created pause. There was a time when I only encountered their presence while in sacred space and specific intent, but now they are so much a part of me that I often find myself reflecting on our last time together, the last message relayed, the most recent exchange or journey, much as I do with my interactions with family and friends. Life has become fuller for them. I have become so much more multidimensional in all ways of body, mind and spirit because of them. A walk in the woods now is a magical meandering with abundance of experiences. Relationships are deeper than ever before. Understanding of who, what and why have a distinction I never imagined. Answers hold many layers now. Possibilities have become endless and as Moss states above, restoration of vitality comes from them daily.

The shamanic relationship with their guides is almost inexplicable as it goes to a level that most humans dare not go or rarely have the opportunity to. But if you are fortunate enough to have crossed the bridge to the realm of your guides…life will never be the same.
