The Messages in Your Dreams

file000455494946(2)My wise and beautiful shaman and teacher, Robin Rice, taught me that when I dream, I am all the parts of the dream. I am the various people in the dream, the objects in the dream, the room or place of the dream and more! Well, needless to say, my dreams suddenly unfolded in ways unimaginable to me in the past. And suddenly, they began to make more sense than they ever had before. They also became valuable tools for me to use in my growth as an evolving shaman. Recently I read a quote, “Keep an eye out for the small and vulnerable creatures in your dreams: The cats who've been neglected, turtles that need their water cleaned, thirsty seedlings and hungry babies. These are the places in you that are suffering for your own warmth. By honoring and learning to care for your animal body, you are nurturing the growth of your instincts and will be blessed by a fortified sense of purpose, direction and wisdom.” - Dreamwork with Toko-pa

And yes, once again the wisdom crosses my path. Our dreams hold great medicine for us. We can learn so very much from them. I so prefer to be my own reference resource, and not a 786 page dream book that tries to tell me of what the red butterfly landing on the frozen lake means in my dream! So in addition to applying the wisdom of Robin Rice to my dreams, I look to care for my animal body as well. It is not unusual for me to dream of animals, or that I am or become an animal within my dream. I often have amazing skills, senses and strengths in my animal forms.

What have your dreams been trying to tell you lately? What messages are becoming revealed as you look to file0001441946602your dream and realize it is all of you? What animal body is in your dream seeking your nurturing attention and is longing to share with you insights to your many skills, strengths and senses. Imagine the power that is waiting for you in your dreams!

Awareness for the Solution

file1761263062467(1)Have you noticed that some people seem to have ongoing problems in their life. Is it bad luck and misfortune? Is it poor choices? Maybe for some. But one thing can be sure, the energies surrounding the problems and their conception are very different than the energies required for the solutions. “Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them.”~Albert Einstein

Sometimes we create our own problems, they begin with the seeds of energies we are carrying with us in our day. Sometimes these seeds are in our thoughts, our moods, and even our very actions. Negativity begets negativity. If we escape a problem arising, we should count our blessings.

Sometimes problems arise from our over thinking and relying on our minds alone to create our day. When we disengage from our soul, from our heart or from our body, it is like trying to ride a bike with one leg. Challenging for many and impossible for most. We are better at living our life fully when we seek the union of the body, mind and soul.

So if we do find ourselves surrounded by the energies of a problem how we approach this matters greatly. If we only bring our ego to the problem we will have little impact as we will not be connected to source, we will not have the window to our soul open for our truth to influence our decisions and we will not be tapping into the love of our heart to help maintain the flow of positive energies.

Approaching our problems with all of our tools in our tool belt, we are better ready to tackle them andfile000165458860 seek their solutions. We need to be able to fully seek our truth. We need to be able to see it from various perspectives. We need to be able to hear what our soul whispers. We need to be able to hold it gently with love and acceptance that all is right for the moment and we are being offered a gift, a lesson and an opportunity for growth. Our awareness shifts from anger, frustration, shame or blame. It softens, it remains open and fluid, it holds more patience and is able to see hope and choices.

The next time you are strapped with a struggle or a problem, check your energies around it. What are you aware of? What are you open to? So much of the solution comes from this place of receptivity, presence and possibilities.

The Beauty Found In Presence

file8791237661560From time to time our lives become busy and we can become distracted. It is in this distraction that we can lose sight of what is truly important in our life, to our soul and to our personal essence. Sometimes this distraction can lead us away from what we wish to hold as our truth and out intentions. Sometimes it happens so subtly that we are not aware of it until it impacts us in a negative way and we stop and wonder how on earth we go so far from our truth. To stay present and in the moment and to stay connected to my truth I have learned a skill that I honor so tremendously that I share it often. The simplicity is its beauty. The fact that anyone can do it is the gift. It is simply to take time each day in appreciating the obvious pleasures that life puts before us. Whether is be the sunrise, a sip of hot sweet tea, the song of a cardinal, or the first warm day in spring.

Try, therefore, to watch the sun every morning when it rises as if you saw it for the first time, and it will always appear new. ~ Omraam Michaël Aïvanhov

It is with these eyes that our perspective remains positive. It is with this vision that we see anything is possible. We don't see what isn't or what can't be when we sit in this place of cherishing the simple beauty of each day, each moment, and each gift before us.

By choosing to do this, life automatically becomes more grace filled and delightful. Frantic energies do not exist in this place. Negativity is erased. Boredom and impatience fade. Being present and observing life with the appreciation of its wonders replaces the dullness that invades some days. It immediately brightens the energies. It quickly shifts the obstacles into challenges that hold choices and lessons that we embrace as opportunities to evolve more fully into our authentic brilliant self.

We are the masters of the view of our life. How we choose to see it, what story we bring to it and how we file000634258053(1)decide to take part in it are all up to us. It does not mean we won't face disappointments, struggles, loss or sadness. But how we choose to see these is where the difference lies. By practicing the appreciation of the simple pleasures and beauty of our day, it becomes easier to view these aspects as only moments in our life, only drops within the ocean, only single fibers of the beautiful woven tapestry and we can find ways to weave them in with appreciation for what they may add, even if it is the gift of the contrast.

Stillness

Life has been full for me lately, lots of responsibilities, commitments, celebrations, beginnings and file0001933981852endings. I am aware that even when all is positive or right, it is still taxing. My soul longs for stillness. It is during these times that I am reminded: Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness. ~ Eckhart Tolle

For me to find the stillness within, I need to go out. I need to get out upon the Mother, sink my being into Her essence, walk upon Her belly, rest in Her arms and breathe in Her perfume. She sends to me the others. She sends to me the beings that revere Her and celebrate Her daily. The birds surround me, the insects, the tiny fur friends and they remind me of the stillness.

Sometimes in the busy-ness of my life I feel the stress creep in and begin to take away the breath of my peace. Inner peace needs rest to lean into. And when I am busy, I can forget the rest my soul needs. And as strange as this may sound, I put it on my “to do” list. I put on my list a specific time to do nothing but seek the stillness and rest my soul longs for.

yoloWhere do you find your stillness? For some it is in art, in music or dance. For some it is in exercise or cooking. Usually, the stillness is found in a pastime or a place that you can go and not be bothered by the responsibilities of your day and instead can take pleasure in the simple moment that you are in. You can create, you can celebrate, you can dream or wonder and your soul soaks it up.
