The Bits and Pieces and Bonds

Life is not like a movie, scenes are not edited in or out. We tend to look at our life as though it is shutterstock_155543597filled with an uncountable number of bits and pieces that area separate and apart from each other. Our perspective does not always take in the fact that it is all connected, we are all one, that what is above is within and what a part of you is part of me. Rumi is quoted as saying, "Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same. Every wonderful sight will vanish; every sweet word will fade, but do not be disheartened, the source they come from is eternal, growing, branching out, giving new life and new joy. Why do you weep? The source is within you and this whole world is springing up from it."

Science has now proven what the mystic, the sage, the shaman has known all along. The force found in life, the essence of the universal energies, though often unseen, is the foundation of it all! This energy flows through everyone and everything. The trees, the old man, the food you feed your body, the unborn baby, the water of the seas, the touch from your lover, the crystal you placed on your altar or the whisper of your voice. It is impossible to exist without this connection. There are those who do not have the vision to see it, those who are too closed down to feel it, those too broken to hold it yet it exists. And when we are able to find the healing, the presence, and the willingness to be with it the bond that builds becomes a strong foundation, a prominent touchstone, a brilliant beacon, and a potent medicine that carries from one to the other again and again, onward and outward.

shutterstock_95723836The Universe is within us and beyond us and whether we are awake to it or not, it does not change its reality. In the Hindu texts of the Upanishads it is stated that the spirit in man and the spirit in the sun are one spirit. There is no other. So today connect to the bits and pieces, embrace the bond and become part of the flow of the universal energies. Feel my touch and I will listen to your song and we will share in the wind's dance and the bird's flight together.

Remembering

file0001464950673(2)How good are you at remembering? Have you noticed that when we feel wronged by someone we can recite in detail the conversation or event. We hold onto every nuance. We may even embellish a bit to give intensity or emphasis in the retelling. Hmmmm. Now, let me ask you another question. Do you remember the great idea you had last week about your unfolding plans and what you wanted to do about it? Do you remember that quote that you read that moved your heart and you felt your inner light shine so bright and you shared it in your Tweets or on your Facebook page so others would delight in it as well? How about do you remember the conversation you had with that someone when you felt truly witnessed and honored? Can you recite the details and nuances of all this? Never forget what you want to remember! If you want to remember how someone wronged you, well, you will! But will that serve you? Will that empower you, bring you joy, happiness, or peace? If you want to remember the aspects of your life that encourage you and delight you, you will, if you put intention there. Where is your focus? Where do you bring your energies of remembrance?

What I have learned is when I am feeling like I am stuck or not growing it is usually because my focusMessage Stones is off. I am not remembering what I should and not letting go of what I need to. Even unconsciously we can hold onto deep entrenching old patterns, they can keep us stuck. We get trapped in the drama of the story. When we are in flow with life, we look to the learning experiences, we listen for the passionate parts of our story and we listen to the callings of our soul and we find ourselves remembering what matters to our heart, to our life, and to our dreams. We need to take the time to invest wisely in our remembering energies. If we use them wisely they will take us far!

What if...

Life is no longer ordinary. My days of boredom, mundane and plain are gone. I see miracles nearly every day. I allow my imagination to come out when it wants. My soul and I share delightful conversations as we gaze at the sunset or look up into the stars. Wonder awaits me at every corner. My days are full by most standards. I am a busy woman. This busy-ness can only be beneficial and file000392638838beautiful and productive and in service with integrity if I allow myself the what ifs. My energetic flow is abundant, my heart is full, my outlook is bright as long as I allow all the possibilities to play through my day. If I shut things down with judgments or if I trap myself in with self-criticism things come to a screeching stop.

Lewis Carroll once stated, "Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." What a fabulous way to begin a day! Thinking positively about your what ifs gives you the juice to explore, the adventure to take to task, and the openness to what others see as obstacles. By bringing my what ifs to my day I create the reality I want to call my life. I constructively bring my power of positive intention to each moment, looking for the next step to take that will lead me onward into the life I choose and desire.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe all have those days were we are faced with struggles and complications. We all have those tasks that we don't favor. But having a perspective of what if we can look to our creativity, to our inner wisdom, to our soul for possibilities and find ways to move forward in the best scenario possible. We can alter our life by shifting our attitude. We can decide to be happy, to find peace or to see the beauty. What if you try it right now?

Safety

file0001950341585What is safety to you? Many times we look to our dearest friends, closest family members and trusted communities to provide it for us. It is here that we allow our self to be vulnerable, brave, and open. It can be a beautiful supportive network to turn to. But our feelings of safety come from more than just those we surround ourselves with and the container that they offer for us. Feelings of safety are also reliant on how much we identify with our personal ego and self image. If we are walking this world with our ego's eyes on the look out then even the most beloved in our lives can be triggers for reactions that threaten our safety. One word that feels judging, one difference of opinion, or one misinterpretation can cause a flood of self-criticism, fear, worry and angst. Our ego has seen to it that when it is on watch, we can be sure that there is no safety to be certain of. It is and will be threatened continually.

When we live in the essence of our soul, when we live in our truth and stay present in the moment we are able to embrace safety. We are not looking to others to provide the perfect condition for us. We bring it with us. We find safety when we are not trying to be in control, to be right, and when we stop worrying about what others think of us.

While it is so terribly important to have those in our life who build us up, who celebrate us and file000514847518give us soft places to land, we certainly cannot expect them to offer it for us all the time and with everything. That is an impossible expectation. So if we can remember this and instead turn to them when it is available and still know we have our own authenticity to rely on we find that safety surrounds us wherever we go and with whomever we are with. Our soul keeps it in balance for us.
